NEW Yarn


I just can't stop spinning. Here are 4 of the latest skeins of Yarn. A friend thinks this is Shetland wool = it was given to me in roving with no tags or anything. It is heathered brown. I spun up two skeins of single ply, then I took a workshop on spinning a few weekends ago and learned to spin thinner yarn so I did and then learned to ply. The two skeins on the right are 2 ply and turned out great - HMMM, what to do with this yarn??????
Will keep you all updated on what comes from this. I am spinning some stuff now that I hate. I will ply it and see what comes of it. It is making bumpy yarn all on its' own and it is very course. I am in the process of buying some Border Leicester/Cheviot cross wool right now. I am having so much fun spinning the different types of fiber to learn. No complaints.

Thank you!!! I LOVE MY SPINNING WHEEL. I wish I wasn't getting stuff ready for the A& C Fair so I could just spin!!!!

I am Finally spinning again - It's been WAAAAAAAY too long so now I"m in a serious creative phase again - there is not enough time in the day. This is 350 (or more really!) yards of 2ply yarn from Silver CVM and Silk dyed in emerald green/Violet and Turqoise. Roving - I LOVE this stuff.

I just couldn't help but but another picture up of this roving. I am tickled at how this turned out and I just cannot wait to spin it up!!!! The colors are lovely and I love the way they work together. NOW I just need to come up with a catchy name for the colorway. REALLY don't know what to call it. Nothing has just jumped out at me like Johnny Jump Ups or Mixed Berries. I have other ones in my head all name but this one just HAPPENED!!! That' s what happens when roving just jumps in the dyepot and wants to be a certain color (or three).

Harvey House Show - Opening Day Part 2

Here are some of the other exhibits from Harvey House. The local quilting quilt has a ton of beautiful quilts (This one and the next one are two of my favorites but there are so many gorgeous quilts you'll just have to go see for yourself!!!! Especially this one - the Patchwork quilt has some of the most incredible embroidry on it I've EVER seen. REALLY, this picture doesn't even come close to showing the incredibly work that went into this quilt. More yarn, Hats, Wheat Weaving and other Fibery Goodness! And last but most certainly NOT least are two of the most talented folks I've ever met - the silk painters. These two ladies - Linda Walters and Sheri Reckers are incredible. I wish I could show you up close the GORGEOUS pieces they have. These two costumes (Diamas on the left by Sheri and the blue/gold gown on the right by Linda) are stunning.
